'I’m not sure if he’ll ever adjust to being an indoor cat': A patient rescuer helps a 5-year-old fer

Posted by Sarah Brown

Turning a streetwise stray into a snug indoor cat is no small feat. It's like convincing a lion to trade the savanna for a sofa. This kindhearted human took in a feral community cat after years of feeding him outdoors. Once injured, he was trapped, treated, neutered, and given a fresh start indoors. But now comes the tricky part: helping him learn that safety can feel just as good as freedom.

For months, he has been recovering in a cozy crate, growing healthy but clearly restless. When finally allowed outside again, he reverted to his wary ways and avoiding his hooman rescuers. Street habits take time to fade, but now he's back inside, rebuilding trust one slow blink at a time.

It is a delicate balance between protection and patience. Whether this feline eventually becomes a confident couch potato or a part-time adventurer, he has already come a long way from the fearful stray he once was. With gentle care, time, and maybe a few treats, this former street cat may soon realize that home is the best territory of all.

A Cozy Bundle of Autumn Kitties in Memes Keeping Warm Before Winter

Posted by Briana Viser

Winter is approaching – you might be living somewhere that already is within the cold clutches of winter's hands, or you might live in sunny California, simply enjoying the surf and sunshine indefinitely. Wrapping yourself to keep warm is like a hug from the universe, and it's even better with a cute kitty.

Even if you live in a sunny, sunshiney place, everyone has some soft spot for the coziness and comfortability of winter vibes. Rain outside, cold in the air, fire or candles lit, and you're snuggled up on the couch watching a film to drift off to sleep. Either that, or you're with your little cat, dog, or partner scrolling hilarious cat memes to keep you from winter's grip. As the weather gets colder, get warmer inside – laugh more, smile, kiss people, and scroll cat memes.

‘To be transformed so quickly in a span of just 4 months... is just something to be celebrated for.’

Posted by Laurent Shinar

It takes a village they say, and while that phrase is usually reserved for hooman children, the same is very much true for cat children. As is proved by this story we have lined up for you today. Which saw a local community come together through awareness and donations to save the life and support the rehabilitation of one cute cat child who deserved so much more than the neglect and negligence he had been shown all his life.

This story stands as testament to what can be achieved when we all pitch in, and that if more communities were willing and able to support the people who do the dirty work of rescuing and rehabilitating, then far fewer feline fur babies would be fighting for their lives out on those mean streets.  So settle in for quite the heart-warmer of a cat story as we dive into the tale of Steve.

We really wanted to start this article with something like, "Do you really love cat memes? Well, then you're in the right place!", but then we felt like one of those 90s infomercials that basically just screamed at you for 15 seconds straight. But, you are here because you love cat memes, unless…. you're here because you like us? If so, we're flattered, but we're also married - you won't be able to lead us into temptation unless you have kittens. We will abandon all morals to pet kittens. No! Not even kittens will tear our family apart. We have feline children at home who depend on us, and a husband who doesn't even know how to scramble eggs. He would be lost without us!

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, and we've established that you're here because you have a craving for some furbulous feline funnnies, welcome! We're something of cat meme expurrts around here, and we see a lot of cat memes every week. But what do we do with them? We gather, and wait, until Caturday to give you the best of the best this week so you can laugh your whiskers off on the one day of the week you don't have to feel guilty about engaging in all things cat. 26-year-old cat rescuer suspects feline fraud when he finds a lost kitty and the "owners" try to cla

Posted by Blake Seidel

We can't imagine how desperate one must be to find a lost cat. We wouldn't be able to sleep. We would make flyers, walk around with their furvorite treats and call out their name for hours, and if we could, employ the use of our friends and family to make a search party at night. It sounds like one of the most pawsitively stressful things you could go through as a cat owner. So, when you see a post of a found cat that looks like your lost cat, you might be tempted to jump at the chance without looking too closely at the details. That's what we'd like to think, anyway.

But there are some dubious people out there, and for whatever reason, some people like to scam others, take lost cats, and claim them as their own. The cat rescuer below might be going through just that - after finding a lost kitty and posting about it, the "owners" try to claim her, but he sees that the fur, eyes, and even microchip don't match up. He took the cat to two different vets, and not one of them found said microchip, even though the "owners" claim that she 100% has one. There are other inconsistencies below, but could the cat have changed a bit while it was lost? Maybe the microchip moved? Find out more by scrolling down!

'As long as he lives, he's my best friend': 8-year-old boy saves kitten by trading his skateboard to

Posted by Mariel Ruvinsky

We know that it is tough to believe sometimes, especially when you see everything that is going on in the world, but it is true - some people are selfless and good and will do good things. Yeah, we forget sometimes too. But in our position, here at ICHC, when we are looking for pawsitive and uplifting stories to share with you guys every single day, we come across these stories more often than others. Stories of people rescuing stray cats in need, stories of people giving warm homes to pregnant cats who need help, stories of people going out of their way - and with no reward whatsoever - to do the right thing. And today's story is the purrfect example of that.

At only 8 years old, this boy did more good than some people will do in their lifetimes. When he saw a bunch of kids harming an innocent kitten, he stood up and did the only thing that he could think of - offering his skateboard as a trade for the kitten. It worked, thank goodness, and now, the cat is saved, the boy is happy, and the internet provided him with a new skateboard, because we all love it when people do the right thing.
