curiouslDid you know that there is a (1.6 million population, 2001) city on this planet that is clean, green and friendly?
That has a public transport system that is actually paying for itself?
That there is a city that had had its previously heavily polluted river(s?) cleaned in less than a year? (Done my major decision to levy huge taxes from polluting industry. It took one year to virtually stop the river pollution. Some works were gone, others installed facilities and continue to invest in cleaning their "waste".)
That they have implemented a highy efficient garbage collection system that is cleaning the city while providing fair income to its poor?
That a modern industrial city can enjoy 55 square m' of greenery per capita?
That people have solved the recycling problem of what was thought to be a non-recycable material when invented (tetra pak piramids made of layers of paper + thin aluminium + plastic)? (well, I'm not sure it was in the same city though :).
And then they say Israel is a "western" country and Brazil is a "developing" one. Go figure ...
