"Chutzpah"
Feb. 8th, 2000 09:02 am""Chutzpah" is not english, it's american. It's very-very widely used.
There's a whole bunch of idioms in american english coming from iidish and
from german, for example: "meivin" - means someone who is an expert on a
particular issue, of course coming from the herew mevin (understand);
another very widely used expression is: " i had to "shlep" this suitcase
with me for the whole week!" - shlep means "to carry" in iidish. There're a
lot more."
